Working in Camden
I absolutely love living in Camden, DE, however I do not recommend it for people who want a busy city. Camden is a very calm town with relatively low crimes, and it's very quiet. In the neighborhood I live in, there are rarely reports of crime and I feel very safe going outside. Keep an eye on your small pets though because there is the occasional fox that crosses the road, and watch out for deer at night.
Camden is a little town that sits next to Route 13 (Dupont Hwy) south of Dover. It holds the Caesar Rodney high school, as well as a middle school and 2 elementary schools for the Caesar Rodney school district. Traffic can be a nightmare at rush hour due to the constriction of three lanes into two just south of Dover, but the rest of the day it's a breeze.
Camden is a very quaint town that borders the southern side of Dover, DE. Some may consider it a suburb of Dover, but as someone who has actually resided there I can say it is its own unique entity full of history and character. It has a uniqueness that gives a sense of homeyness. You can drive through the towns center and see historic buildings with their little businesses as well as an old firehouse that seems to take you back to a simpler innocent time. The people I've met bring the same sense of warmth to it as well. Camden also has everything you need within driving distance. They even had a guitar shop right down the street from where I lived which is great since I play. I am truly proud to call it home.
