I moved to Camden 3 years ago. I live in a one bedroom apartment in an apartment complex next to the train station. I couldn't ask for a better location for me since I rely on public transportation. However, it's not the safest city in the world, and my apartment complex has police activity often. I haven't had any issues, but I have seen and heard a few altercations. The city itself could use some nightlife, a nice place to go. Camden has many corner bars, but they don't seem very safe, and they are all old places. They are building up near the transportation center, but it's mostly medical buildings. It would also be nice to have an indoor recreation center for local residents with security. This way, people will feel safe and use the facility.

Camden, New Jersey is where I was born and raised for most of my life. It is not not a city that I am proud of, but it is home for me. Great things have come from this city as well as bad. It is a city trying to turn itself around through all the negativity. I have faith in my city, it will become a place that I will be honored to be a citizen of. If we all come together it will eventually get easier to make a change.
Camden is a city full of diversity. We have people that live here from all walks of life!! We have Puerto Ricans,Dominicans,Africans,African Americans,Jamaicans, Chinese and Caucasians!! And for the most part people in this city get along for the greater good of the city. This city has it's pros and cons. Some of the pros are.. there many places that provide for our homeless citizens whether it be food, shelter,or clothing. And the city offers numerous summer programs for the children. And Camden also has a beautiful waterfront!! At the waterfront you can visit the New Jersey State Aquarium. Not to mention the variety of eateries in the area.. I am by far not saying that Camden is Perfect but it is doable.. with some thick skin!! The folks here are different. Take that however you will...
