Love this area, great place to have a home and job! I grew up in Princeton, which is a little smaller than Cambridge, and I had my very first job in Cambridge when I was fifteen. I came to love the area, and once I graduated high school I got to live in Cambridge and have a life that revolves around being in this area, and I have grown to love the people, the small businesses. This is an area I would have no problem raising a future family, I for see myself being here for a long time, and being able to manage a life around a place that offers a city life but you can also reside in the country with some land and drive ten minutes to your nearest grocery store, or shopping center. I am super excited to see what is to come to Cambridge next!
Cambridge is the type of town people just stop by on road trips to other parts of the state. There has been a lot of housing developments being built. The streets are always empty and quiet because everybody is either at work, inside or at some other town to have fun. It's really depressing in winter time. It's tough to make friends here so don't get your hopes up if you're looking for company. It's getting very liberal very fast so that's bad news if you're conservative. The roads are in bad condition and are rarely maintained. Our downtown is very rundown and abandoned. There is a cafe here, a gym, a brand new mini golf place, and a liquor store in the downtown area. There is word that the city council wants to expand the main road because of all the passing through traffic. All of my friends are suffering from mental illness because this town really does wear down on the soul. Don't move here because you likely can't afford it either.
Cambridge has it's pros and cons just like any other city. The main issue is how high the cost of living is, as in rent, house payments, and lack of affordable housing. The schools are pretty decent, with the exception of students who bully other students, aren't held accountable. The area is nice, not too city, and not too country. It has enough variety of stores to meet everyone's needs, and isn't too far from the cities. Being that it is a small town, everyone knows everyone's personal business, and gossip is at an all time high. Likewise, drugs are an issue here as well. The city water is pretty bad, and I highly recommend not drinking it. There isn't much here for entertainment purposes for people of all ages. Just a movie theater, a couple of restaurants, and a mini golf course. Cambridge lacks entertainment venues for teenagers, and that could be a big reason for the drug problem. Cambridge also lacks a variety of restaurants, but has too many places to get pizza from.
