Beautiful location, nestled in the small valley between the hilly Thousand Oaks neighborhood, and coastal hub of Ventura. This is a safe city great for families and students and very dog friendly! Only 10 minites from the beach and both Los Angeles and Santa Barbara within 1 hour driving distance in either direction. There's great shopping and a wonderful sense of community!

I’ve lived in Camarillo my whole life and the only thing that’s keeping me here is my family. There is NO nightlife you start to see the streets clear up at around 8p.m, lots of shady people, snobby people, overly populated, not many good restaurants not to mention there is not a healthy place in sight, and no activities for kids besides the park. The perks of living here is the location, super close to the beach, and lots of houses to choose from. Don’t get me wrong though! It’s not completely horrible.
Camarillo has something for everyone: Families will find plenty of parks, and activities- kids' sports are huge here. During the summer, there are free movies in the park, free concerts in the park - you name it! For the older generation, Camarillo has an active senior center, with groups and activities going on for seniors as well. The library is VERY active: lectures, trips, tours, classes...Camarillo has theaters, the best premium outlet center in the U.S. - plus lots of great restaurants. On the upscale side, Lure restaurant is charming, the food is second to none, and the oyster bar is fantastic - a must-try. For those who love active outdoor activities, Camarillo is perfectly placed. We are just 20 minutes from the beach, a quick couple of hours from the ski slopes, and within 30 minutes you can be hiking the most beautiful trails in SoCal. Camarillo has it all!
