Commuting to work is tremendously easy, even with traffic at the worst hours. The public schools are “incroyable”! (French= amazing!!). The marching bands and sports compete all across the United States. I feel it’s a safe place for children to grow up in and in today’s world that’s very important. With the school shootings happening in Florida and other parts of the US, many children are prepared for such a thing. No shootings have happened on campus and at least 2 officers are always present. If I had to choose one place for my future children to grow up, I would choose York County.

York county is very safe, with extremely friendly people and very rich in history, much of which is free to access at a York County resident. There is not as much for teenagers to do as in a larger area but there is Yorktown Beach (a river really) that is a popular hang out location and we are 1- 1 1/2 hrs away from Richmond and Virginia Beach. Busch Gardens (theme park) is just 15-25 min away and it is open spring through Halloween. If you are looking for a nice suburban feel with excellent schools York County is your place. You can bike and walk in most areas in York county very safely and the home sizes range from small to quite large depending on neighborhood. There are a number of neighborhoods with excellent associations to help you get to know people that have activities.
York County is a great place to grow up. They have a fantastic public school system, that prepares their students for academic success beyond graduation.

York County has room for growth in career opportunities and night life. Many residents have to travel to neighboring cities for work and entertainment.
