York County Reviews

York is a small community of less than nine thousand people. We're known as the White Rose City. Mostly everyone knows everyone if you have been in the community for a length of time. York is a family oriented town, great school system, local farmers, peach and apple orchards. Relatively safe and a wonderful place to raise children.

York County is a great place to raise a family. York County is growing because homes are reasonably priced and it is in close proximity to Charlotte, NC.
York is a very old town, with a lot of historical sites. I came here when I was 14. It's where a lot elderly come to retire. It is also a "southern pride" state.
Land out in the country is the best part about this county. You can buy acres of land, and have as much privacy as you want. The only thing that I don't like about this county is the blatant racism. We have historic Brattonsville, a Plantation, that housed slaves. To have that piece of history here, and to still experience racism on a daily basis, makes me want to finish school, so that I can find a place to raise my family, in a safe and quiet environment.
There isn't really much to do here, especially for children. You have to go to other cities, if you would like to go to a nice restaurant, or a club. The skating rink isn't even really for children here.
There aren't many jobs here, and most people that I know have to commute between 30 minutes to an hour, for employment.
