Winnebago Illinois is my home town and a place I call home. After graduating from Winnebago High School and spending most of my days there, it is a place that will always be close to my heart. I enjoy the community and how everyone is considered family. If I could raise my own children one day, it would most definitely be in Winnebago.

There is a lot of businesses around here, but most are corporations, not local businesses. There are three different Walmarts in one city! Needless to say, everything is available at the big-name stores, but I would like to see more smaller family businesses.
As I have gotten older I have realized that living in Rockford isn't so bad. When I was a little younger when I couldn't drive or do things on my own I didn't like living here. I thought it was boring. The crime rates increased and I felt unsafe. Rockford is slowly coming around though. There are more community oriented events that everyone of all ages can go to. I feel like people are actually trying to make this a safer and more comfortable place to live. It is affordable to live here as well. Local businesses are thriving and growing. I am discovering new places and things which makes me want to get to know the place I have been living in my entire life. I can picture myself moving somewhere else but I picture raising my kids here in Rockford.
