Quiet, not many crimes. Mostly everyone is nice. Not many things to do. No activities for families or kids. Would be a great retirement place if you just want to sit home. Not far from Houston.

Wharton does have a wonderful community college, however, outside of that, there is not much variety in the city.
Needs more apartment complexes. .and housing opportunities. Jobs are not too good here.but it's a small community and friendly. Everyone knows everyone. Comute is good.
