As a former Brooklynite, I love my new lifestyle in the Village of Ossining. Here are some of the things I love about it:
• more affordable historic & old homes- I love the Second Empire Victorians in the Village
• walkable suburb- most neighborhoods are close to stores & great restaurants- perfect suburb for the city person & nondriver
• Downtown Ossining is the only nationally registered historic downtown in the Italianate style
• charming & hilly with gorgeous views & filled with nature
• the Village is along the beautiful Hudson River
• Very easy train access to NYC as Ossining is an express stop- Ossining, Tarrytown, Harlem & then Grand Central!
• Friendly neighbors- many say hi to each other on the street
• Diverse population- like little UN!
• Excellent home base- Very close to amazing places- Tarrytown, Peekskill, Briarcliff, Mt. Kisco, Chappaqua, Croton, Sleepy Hollow
• Excellent Village services & government that listens to residents
• lots of positive growth to come

Born and raised in Westchester county. (Ive lived between Harrison, Somers and Eastchester growing up.) maybe it is just because Westchester will always be “home” to me, but out of all the other counties I’ve live din personally - (lived in Dutchess county as well) - Westchester county has always topped it off. It is ranked top in regards to school districts, majority of this county is extremely safe and picture-esq beautiful. It is expensive but , like with everything else in life, you get what you pay for.
Noise starts at 630am every morning from a street sweeper in Village of Tuckahoe for the last 17 years creating a construction domino effect all day. Incompetence and inconsiderate Village DPW management with a life time appointment who ignores complaints from residents near the Crestwood train station areas. Driver doesn’t accomplish anything just a noisy nuisance along his route. He has more power than than the mayors and village trustees over the many years.
