I live in New Boston in Wayne county. We love it here! We are on a quiet dirt road where trees line your way. It is beautiful and peaceful. We live between a horse farm and Crosswinds Marsh. My kids and grandkids love to be at my house, where they can see deer and plenty of other wildlife. I feel privileged to live here!
I have lived in Wayne County my entire life. Growing up in the 1980's and 1990's was great. I believe I received a good education attending public schools. We had a great sense of community. Wayne County was full of opportunity for growth. A lot of people in those days felt that college was not necessary because you could just go work for Ford Automotive or MichCon Gas Company right out of high school. I as so many of my friends were not pushed to attend college. Now, it was not so easy to gain employment at the major employers in the area.
Today, Wayne County is not what is used to be. It is looked at as a "less than" community. I see everyday the closing of businesses and loss of community opportunities. I now work outside the county and I absolutely see the lack of interest in building new companies in this area. It makes me sad to see the place that brought me happiness and hope as a child turn into a place that people and potential new businesses look down on.

I later become pregnant (as a teen) and dropped out of high school, the worst mistake ever! I have always regretted this decision but ended up getting my GED in 2008, Yayy!! I never thought about what I wanted to do in life but I knew I wanted to do something to help others.
I recently decided to go back to school, for sonography (a "fancy" word for ultrasound). I love technology and I feel this is where I belong in life. Plus, with my experience of 5 miscarriages, I know how it can feel to be on the other end of an ultrasound.
That brings you/me to where I am at now in life, trying to find my way and set an amazing example for my kids. That they too, can do anything in life (with some hard work and dedication) no matter your struggles or where you come from, that it is never too late to become that person the world needs you to be!
