I have lived here for most of my life and I am ready to leave. It has its perks: living close to the beach, unique ecological diversity, occasional naked man on the bridges. But it also has many downfalls such as little to no diversity in South Walton County, no respect for the health of the ecosystems from locals, the homeowners who come down one week a year have too much say in what goes on, and we even have to FIGHT to be able to use our beaches. I say there is much to be improved on around here. However, I don't intend to stay around long enough to see it happen. I may come back someday and try to fix this place, but I would have an issue with the leaders, considering that many have tried and all had good ideas, but the leaders don't listen and are too concerned with their own lives to be troubled with others.

Walton County is the largest county in Florida. North of the Choctawhatchee Bay is very rural while south of the Bay is largely beach resorts, so there are two very different sides to the county. Overall, living in South Walton has been a good experience. The beaches are the best in the world, I believe. There are many good restaurants and crime is very low.
Walton County is the ideal area to grow up in and raise a family. A small, loving community with beautiful beaches and activities, its almost like living in a fantasy. The schools built around the area are outstanding in academics and athletics which really just ties in the whole community.
