It's a great area to grow up. I loved growing up in a rural area, even though it can be boring sometimes. I love being able to have a big yard and just hanging out with friends here. Since there isn't always a lot to do, it makes shopping trips or other adventures even more special. The community support is great when someone is going through a tragedy, health problem, etc.

Van Wert tends to have great local and school spirit. I feel they are sheltered to social and racial injustices seen in larger cities. Very religious community. Van Wert is growing each year. Van Wert still doesn't see the same turmoil and problems that larger towns and cities see. Overall it is a good place to grow up. Good schools and sports and school spirit embodied by the town.
The biking trail around the reservoirs. The performing arts center. Close to Fort Wayne, IN. The small town festivals.
