Tuscaloosa County Reviews
Rating 4.23 out of 5 79 reviews
I would like to see more growth of businesses in the Northport area. There are fewer options in Northport than Tuscaloosa, and it's usually pretty crowded and more busy in Tuscaloosa due to college students at The University of Alabama. I live rurally in north Tuscaloosa county and Northport is far enough away, I would like to see more growth in Northport so I wouldn't have to go to the Tuscaloosa side of the river as much.
Tuscaloosa is a city that has outgrown itself. The hospitals are outdated and overused. Most public schools, especially city school zones, are terribly underserved. There is little to no public transportation. Also, little to no public resources for mental health, low income, etc. The UA is the focus of everything. There are constantly hotels and such being built, and nothing geared for families, children, teens, or seniors. The crime rate is continuing to rise.
Tuscaloosa is an incredible place to live. There is something for everyone to enjoy; from the CrossFit warrior to the bar hopper. It seems like new and interesting businesses and venues are opening daily and the city planning is constantly improving. Whether you find yourself looking for rustic charm or the newest trends, Tuscaloosa is truly the place to see.
