The weather depends on the time of the year. During the Summer and Fall Ithaca is Gorgeous! The winter and early spring can be very cold with frequent snow storms. Spring seems to be more over cast and rainy when compared to other places I have visited.

There is a wide diversity of local business. With Cornell University nearby there is are a fair amount of start up in fields such as nano technology, 3 dimensional printing, and biological systems.
Especially with Collegetown there are many late night eateries and a wide array of ethnic restaurants to appeal to the international student populations at Cornell and Ithaca College.
