I believe that there is no place like southern Louisiana. We have an amazing sense of hospitality. Pretty much everyone can cook and eat down here. But along with that we depend a lot on the land. Many people are commercial fishermen or work offshore. Currently both fields are on the down side so our unemployment rate is high.
I am proud to be from Louisiana, but sometimes it is hard to live here. We rely on the land, and sometimes we can't get what we need from it.

The Houma Police department is very reliable. I have never had a problem with them. They work very hard to protect and ensure our safety. I always see them patrolling the town at all hours. With all of the crimes happening in the world today I feel safe because of the police department in Houma.
No abandoned houses. Housing is good quality.
