I would give Sumter county a very good rating in respect to the distance to the mountains, the beach, or the coast of Charleston. Plus, ther is a lot of history!
Sumter is a little town that everyone usually never sees the good in it. Everyone knows everyone in town, and sometimes that is a good thing and sometimes that is a bad thing. I've always been told its not what you know its who you know. Sumter has been my home for over 20 years now. I'm happy to say that growing up here has been a wonderful experience. It is close to the beaches and not to far from the mountains. You get a variety of weather and a variety of place to visit. Sumter is not as bad as everyone makes it out to be. Having an air force base helps too! There are many different people here from many different places.
