I have lived in Solano county my whole life and during the time I've spent here, I have faced no issues whatsoever. I am incredibly mesmerized by the amount of diversity this county has which allows me to be myself with people who share common interests.
Solano county is a great place to live. It’s is very diverse and has very kind and social people. There’s also annually events such as fair and contest, which are found for all ages. It’s a great location to be because it close to Sacramento and the Bay Area. It’s also not to far away from Tahoe or Reno. The weather is perfect in fall and spring, hot in the summer and low 60’s to 50’s in the winter. Solano county also has a lot of great schools with awesome sports programs. A large amount of solan teams are know to be annually playoff contenders.
I have been living in Solano County for the past 18 years. I have grown up here and gone to the nearby schools. I would say that this county has good school districts. However, I do live in a fairly small city, so going anywhere for dinner or for fun does take a commute. There are a lot of nice things around here if you are up for the drive, about an hour or so. There have been quite a few break-ins and kidnappings that I have heard about but nothing too crazy. The city I live in is nice if you like peace and quiet, everyone is just doing there own thing. This is a developing area, they have been doing a lot of construction. They have built numerous new homes here in the past couple of decades, and even a new fire station. I would recommend this county for a family, not so much if you are living alone. I would think if you are living alone you go out a lot, and there is not a lot to do nearby. However, for families this is a great area to live in overall, in my opinion at least.
Solano County is a nice place to live and visit. There are several things to do in the day. Not much to do at night but San Francisco and Sacramento are both pretty close. I wish there were more activities for the youth and programs for low-income families. For the most part, I feel pretty safe here. I enjoy the diversity in the community, food variety, multicultural events and there are opportunities for employment that vary depending on your field of interests.
my living experience here in Solano County has been an obstacle but I'm continuing to pray for strength and guidance for both me and my family.
It is a beautiful area to raise your family or enjoy everything it has to offer. There is a lot to see and things to do. The golden hills are majestic and the people are friendly and kind.
Nice place, most cities are good expect for some, beautiful landscapes and good eateries and close proximities near two major cities which are San Fransisco and Sacramento. Good shopping areas and you have plenty of places to go to.
I love living in my home, and in this area, its very calm and peaceful
It would be better if we weren't in he middle of a statewide drought right now, but other than the freak weather associated with that, it's pretty nice here. A little cooler than I'd like, but I'm used to tropical weather.
Unless you desire to work a crap job for crap wages there is very little to offer in this town. Minimum wage jobs waiting tables, working at the theme park, or at the fast food joints or gas stations are all that are on offer here.
There is a great breakfast/lunch diner in town, along with a wonderful local pizza place and a BBQ place that is excellent, if a bit pricy. There is also a local donut shop that is great. The chain restaurants/fast food joints in the area are dependable but unexciting. There are a few good Mexican/South American cuisine places in town, but no good Chinese food places. One good sushi place, though.
There is audible gunfire at least twice a week. The local cops/sheriffs are present often and are highly visible at night. There are several vacant houses that are often broken into by squatters and/or drug users. The cops have to roust them out at least once a month.
We live in an older section of town with bigger lots and mor variety of styles in architecture. Other areas if town with newer houses have small lots and are built so close together as to be stifling. The houses in those areas are identi-kit McMansions. Ugly and entirely without personality or imagination.
Local parks are ok. They are often litter-filled and dirty, though. People in the area a pigs who don't clean up after themselves and have no consideration for others.
There is very little sense of community in my current neighborhood. People don't really care and, while they have dogs, they are used as a status symbol and not taken care of properly at all.
We need to hire more police officers, as it is well known that there aren't enough to cover the demands of the city. As far as municipal services go, the city needs to fix the streets first and foremost. It is untenable the condition of the roads here.
We have chronic drunks and meth-heads in the area. The population is also generally poor, and consume a lot of premade food and snack items that are high in salt and fat. There are two local hospitals, one good, one I wouldn't let doctor a sick cat. Both hospitals are difficult to reach from this area unless one has access to one's own car. Taxis are simply too expensive for people in this town.
