Over all I really enjoy Shelby County. I like that it's a melting pot of culture. There is a lot of support for entrepreneurs and small businesses, with entire neighborhoods building up and supporting these businesses. We are known for our musical tastes, home of Elvis, Three 6 Mafia, and B.B. King. There is a lot of history here as well. Just off the Mississippi banks the largest maritime disaster in US history happened. We boast amazing parks, I live within walking distance of a park myself and I spend a lot of time there during good weather.
Overall Shelby County is a great county to live in. I moved here with my kids for a fresh start and Shelby county is just that. They have so many opportunities for educational and career growth. The county and the state also offer many programs and activities for families and children. If I had to change something about the county, I would love to see more locally-owned businesses thriving.
I like that activities I like to do and services that I need are close by and are fairly nice facilities. Not to mention that the cuisines in the area are delicious and the customer support is, in my opinion, the best in Memphis. Of course I would love to see more family parks, especially dog parks for my dogs and I to get our walks in
