I like the area! I also think that the education is great depending on the school one chooses. Santa Barbara has an amazing night life that consists of shopping as well as delicious restaurants and bars. During the week days, stores close pretty early. People are generally really friendly and there is a lot less traffic compared to other places in CA. Something to consider about Santa Barbara is the cost of living, it is not a cheap area to live in. However, the beach and weather make it worthwhile.

The school system is wonderful. Dog park is beautiful but costs $125 a year?! Beautiful landscapes and well structured building, streets; and current construction does not limit motion throughout the city. Housing is very expensive in the city but affordable close by. Not a very good public transportation system but there is a clean air express bus that commutes passengers into the city from surrounding smaller towns.
I've lived in Santa Barbara for 3 years. I've never had any difficulty with finding a job in this area, in fact, I've found the job market to be thriving. The only downside I've personally experienced living in Santa Barbara and Goleta is the expensive cost of home and apartment rentals. WIth that being said, this area more than makes up for it with beautiful nature everywhere you turn, a bustling nightlife, plenty of community supported activities and easy commutes!
