My main experience in Rockingham ( well known as Richmond County) North Carolina is friendly Southern. Rockingham is a very small town and everyone knows everything about what's going on. So if you need help finding a place to go you will have tons of friendly people to help you through the way. There is not a lot of places to go in Rockingham or Richmond county. There are a few places to get food and a few places to shop. I rate my overall experience at Rockingham at 4 stars because it is small, but also a friendly place.

Rockingham county was once a thriving community with many manufacturing jobs..chiefly textiles. All those jobs are now gone leaving employment opportunities here very very low. Therefore the local economy is low.
Since I was born in this town, it brings back good memories, but I wish it would have more places to visit.
