Platte county is one of the best places to live on the west side of Kansas City. It's very family friendly with hardly any dangers happening around. It also has the best public school system on the west side of Missouri, which also happens to be #6 in the state. The commute to downtown KC is very easy and short. It's enough to stay out of city life, and out of no-mans-land at the same time. If you don't need to make the commute downtown, there are many shopping plazas and other places for job opportunities. With all these perks of living in Platte County, I do believe there is one downfall; driving safety. Drivers in Platte County tend to be very fast, and people can get seriously hurt if they are not paying attention. I have seen kids almost get run over walking through the crosswalk because driver are speeding, ignoring road rules, or being distracted. The county should make driving safety a priority before someone gets seriously hurt.
