Pinellas county is many ways is a wonderful place. Downtown Saint Petersburg is great and quite beautiful. However, Pinellas County exemplifies a divided county. There is a clear divide between "the bad neighborhoods" vs the "good neighborhoods." It is clear that people in poverty have "their" side of town and those who are not in poverty have "their" side in town. I am a social worker and work with people in extreme poverty. Everything about them is questioned and/or judged. Their race, their mental status, their socio-ecnomoic status, their immigration status... when does the inequality end? Pinellas County claims to be more liberal then most, and yet why does such a huge divide still continue? It's not about dismissing people's experiences to make them more like the "dominant/normal" people. It's about acknowledging our differences and coming together as a community. I wish my county could come together and really demonstrate what it means to be unified.

Overall, I think Pinellas County is a good place to live. It has a lot of restaurant and entertainment options to choose from, and there are always the beaches, of course!!! There's plenty to do in the area, so you'll never get bored. The majority of the people that I've come across are super sweet and genuine, as well. Nevertheless, this is a great suburban area to reside in, and I truly recommend it for anyone who is interested in settling down in the Sunshine State!
Love Pinellas county. Traffic from tourists along beaches are terrible. Very diversified population in safety harbor, Dunedin, and downtown Saint Petersburg. Always renovating and updating with the community.
