I have been a resident of Ozaukee County for 25 years, and am very fortunate of my upbringing and all the amenities that Ozaukee County has to offer. Ozaukee County is oriented around small businesses, charming downtowns, top tier education, and very friendly residents. Being located just north of Milwaukee makes this county very accessible to all the larger amenities that the city offers while having such a small-town feel in each community. I am very happy to be a homeowner in Ozaukee County and support all the wonderful businesses in Port Washington and the rest of the county. Outdoor pursuits such as the Ozaukee Interurban Trail, Muttland Meadows in Grafton, beach access to Lake Michigan, kayaking down the Milwaukee River, and all the amazing parks in the county make it a very enjoyable area to live in and thrive outdoors on top of all the incredible small businesses. I am very happy with the quality of life being a resident in Ozaukee County.
My family moved from Milwaukee county to Ozaukee county when I was just 5 years old. This decision was probably one of the best decisions that my parents have made for my two brothers and myself. I have spent the last 17 years in this county and I feel safe and comfortable here. There are many shopping center, plenty of great restaurants, and most importantly the schools in Ozaukee county are the best!
Ozaukee County is a smaller "farming" community that's not too far from Lake Michigan. There are alot of opportunities to enjoy nature on the Interurban Trail that has miles & mile of paved biking, running, walking trails. The famous Ice Age Trail is also very near, and it offers over 30 miles of natures best hiking trails...and that's in the Northern Kettle Moraine segment alone. Let's not forget that there is some of the BEST ICE CREAM in Ozaukee County; made from dairy produced at local farms.
