Otsego County Reviews
Rating 3.25 out of 5 8 reviews
I have lived and worked in Otsego County, NY for over 5 years now. Having grown up close to New York City, I treasure the air quality and style of living in central NY. There is no traffic, plenty of farms nearby to purchase quality produce and the views are magnificent.
There are significant changes in the four seasons in Worcester. Winter being the longest, starting from about November and finally ending in April. Worcester is so beautiful in the fall. Spring is also nice, but wet and muddy. The summers get warm and humid. If you like outdoor winter sports, the winters aren't so bad. You also see a lot of people with four wheel drive cars because of the hills and snow. It's also not uncommon to see most people with a plow stuck on their four-wheelers or pick-up trucks. IT's a nice place to be because if you get snowed in, someone will be around the help dig you out!
There are maybe 5 places to go out at night in Worcester and that includes two local bars (Buds and The Time Out), and a pub that closes around 9 p.m. The Time Out is usually not filled with anyone under the age of 40 on a regular weekend night, but when college is on break, Saturday night karaoke can be pretty fun! Even though Jack's Pub closes at 9, it's a great dinner place. It has a small menu, but the chicken wrap and the burgers are so yummy. There is also a one-screen movie theatre that plays shows only in the summer. Overall, there is not much to do at night here! Most people go out to Oneonta, about 25 minutes away to go out to bars and various restaurants.
