I love the variety of cultures in Osceola County. The guvernamental services are excellent. You don't have to wait. The green areas are well maintained and the roads are well maintained. Neighborhoods are safe. There are many activities for families including all ages. The people are very friendly and always willing to help. My kids like to go to different varieties of parks. There are a variety of shops, restaurants. There's a lot of good hospitals. My husband was a soldier for 12 years and we decided to retire in Osceola County. It was the best choice. We didn't need anything. It is a great place to raise your children and provide you with a good education. I don't change Osceola County for nothing. There are so many things to do and it doesn't give you time to get bored. I love the activities the community offers. I've got Disney and Universal and the Outlets nearby. I always have family and friends to visit. The cost of living is a very good one. I recommend Osceola County!!!!!
Kissimmee used to be a small town but the population has grown and the city does not seem able to keep up. Housing is expensive, jobs are scarce unless you drive into Orlando. The rent has risen 3 times in 3 years. The schools are subpar and grade average is around a C. To work in Kissimmee you must know Spanish and the job requirements will list as much. The traffic is atrocious between 7am
Osceola county like everywhere else has its flaws. I have lived in multiple parts of this county in the past 10 years and with the heavy white and hispanic population, I have still seen and experienced much prejudice regarding race and gender. The school system is very strict on inifor.s and dress code, which I feel are deeply rooted in sexist ideals.
