Monterey County is beautiful. The public schools are above average, however some academics could be improved. Monterey County is safe, as the cities are not to big and have police stations nearby. Nightlife is excellent in Monterey. The beach, wharf, and downtown areas are always filled with events and activities. The market in the Monterey County for housing is decent and the affordability of the area is a little bit above average but definitely worth it. There is hardly any traffic, except for some times throughout the day. Several jobs are available in the area and diversity is an all high due to the Defense Language Institute in Monterey.
My experience with Monterey county has always be amazing growing up around here going to the wharf, walking along the beach, and s much more has always been a gift! I could never think about a place as beautiful as here. So much history with John Steinbeck, Cannery Row, and the well esteemed Luguna Seca raceway one of the most prestigious and iconic racetracks in all the world. such an amazing place to be as a family.
The weather and the people are nice. However, it lacks many facilities that a city might have, so it's kind of inconvenient sometimes. Also, there isn't a lot of entertainment available(like only one amusement park and not a lot of concerts to go to), so that's a bummer as well. But there are still a lot of good places to eat at, so that's nice. The weather stays constant even throughout seasons, which is something I really enjoyed. The schools here are better compared to the national average, and kids here are fairy smart. Overall, it is a good experience living in Monterey.
