Monroe County contains a relatively wide range of towns, ranging from Pittsford to Greece to Honeoye Falls. These towns allow for a mix of more rural land to more urban living towards the city of Rochester. Travel throughout the county is relatively easy, though there is not a great deal of public transportation available.
I love living in Monroe! There are so many diverse places to dine in such as the local diner, there's mutiple Chinese/ Japanese restaurants, along with Mexican, Italian, and even American restaurants! The community overall is very safe and police are constantly around to secure that safety. It is a very close knit community with a clear understanding of how to better the community through a lot of interaction with the people. There are many places for children, teens, adolescents, and seniors to have a fun at. The education at the school district is exquisite. My family moved here just for that reason! However, although there are many dining areas, there are not many places in which the youth can enjoy activities such as bowling, or ice rinks, which would help a lot of kids move around more.
I think Rochester is a beautiful city but our poverty rate is on the lowest in the country. I think that needs to be worked on. I feel as being a 24 year old, there isn’t must to do here. We need more fun adventurous places to go to have fun. I think we need more jobs for people and we need our mayor and governor to do more about violence.
