I love living in Monroe! There are so many diverse places to dine in such as the local diner, there's mutiple Chinese/ Japanese restaurants, along with Mexican, Italian, and even American restaurants! The community overall is very safe and police are constantly around to secure that safety. It is a very close knit community with a clear understanding of how to better the community through a lot of interaction with the people. There are many places for children, teens, adolescents, and seniors to have a fun at. The education at the school district is exquisite. My family moved here just for that reason! However, although there are many dining areas, there are not many places in which the youth can enjoy activities such as bowling, or ice rinks, which would help a lot of kids move around more.

I think Rochester is a beautiful city but our poverty rate is on the lowest in the country. I think that needs to be worked on. I feel as being a 24 year old, there isn’t must to do here. We need more fun adventurous places to go to have fun. I think we need more jobs for people and we need our mayor and governor to do more about violence.
Since I was very little I had moved around, once we had moved to Monroe that had all changed. Me and my mother both fell in love with the town, school district and all the people here. Monroe is different than others around by far. Everyone I so-friendly and kind. I had once been walking home and a women stopped and asked me how far I lived. I had told her about a mile. She than handed me $30 for a cab and told me that a pretty girl shouldn't have to walk home. She waited for the cab to pick me up and take me home. Now that not the only time someone has been so kind to me. While my mom and I where picking up pizza once we didn't have enough money for it, than the men behind us told us he cover the whole order. Both my mother and I kept on telling the men he didn't have to do that, all he did was give us a little laugh and a smile and told us to enjoy the little moments in life. I will never forget that.
