Town is split by the rail road tracks. One side is heavy crime (drug, gangs) the other side is pretty average medium size town.
Madera is a small town and growth as a city has been somewhat slow. The schools are average and shopping is limited but Fresno is a 30 min. drive away. If you are looking to retire or financially set then it is not a bad place to be. However, if you are looking for robust job opportunities then I would suggest look elsewhere. Housing and rental prices are almost identical to bigger cities nearby which is a disadvantage. Overall experience was average but it really depends on what it is that you are looking for in a city.
Madera Country is a great place to work and live. Its very nice but doesn't offer much entertainment wise.
I love that the activities in the schools are able to help out the community and get individuals a head start. One thing I feel that can be improved on is getting people more involved in the community. Having more events for people to sign up and volunteer.
Madera County is welcoming to everyone no matter their race , color , religion. Our schools have kids who want to succeed and learn. We believe in madera unified and our county.
Madera is a quiet town. It is not very full of people so it is easy to make very close friends with your neighbors and community members.
What I personally liked about Madera was the community spirit everyone had and how they would all come together as one to support each other. One thing I would like to see change is the safety, a lot of the times I would hear a lot of people talking about how much criminal activity there is in Madera.
Not a place for parents to enter there child into school, madera has some of the worse techers who do not love their job. drugs everywhere.
Madera County is a city were everyone can express their beliefs. The change I would like for my city would be to give more water to the agriculture industry. Therefore, creating more jobs for our community.
Madera County is a good city to live in. One thing I love in Madera is that the community is nice. It is a safe city.
Not much to do but a close town so you don't spend a lot on gas. Schools are only good on the rich part of town.
Not a bad area, lots of country. It's in the central valley and at the foot of the Sierra Nevadas. It is also a couple hours from the coast.
Madera is a fine place to raise a family, though activities are lacking. We have a drive-in, movie theater, roller skating rink, and private airport.
I like how small town and mostly know everyone but since housing development started up again I would like to see corporate development as well especially a target
The college found in Madera California is truly a blessing, full of amazing instructors/staff, and is worth checking out. Other than that Madera is not the best place to call home. The local farmers are continuously polluting the air, both with poisons and burning chemically laced materials, and the town itself is less impressive.
Not much to do, kind of dirty, schools aren't that great. It is relatively close to Fresno which has pretty much anything you could want/need.
Madera Ranchos is a small ranching town in the middle of California. It is politically conservative. The community is very involved in the school systems.
