I enjoy the fact that the town is small and all the stores are near by. The food is amazing almost everywhere and access to the free way is about 5 minutes away! I would love to see the traffic improved! There’s a lot of speeding individuals and individuals who do not care about other drivers being present. But other than that Madera has been a pleasure to live in so far.
Madera is a small town and growth as a city has been somewhat slow. The schools are average and shopping is limited but Fresno is a 30 min. drive away. If you are looking to retire or financially set then it is not a bad place to be. However, if you are looking for robust job opportunities then I would suggest look elsewhere. Housing and rental prices are almost identical to bigger cities nearby which is a disadvantage. Overall experience was average but it really depends on what it is that you are looking for in a city.
I like how Madera is a small town and people are welcoming.Whenever there is an event the town is always there to show their support to one another. One of the things I would change is maybe add more activities for the children other than parks maybe like a Chuck E Cheese or a place for an arcade since we don’t have anything here we have to drive to Fresno.
