I grew up here, and it was weird. It's got the third biggest city in the state (Allentown, behind the massive Philadelphia and the still pretty big Pittsburgh) but then peters out into so much farmland. The amount of suburbs are insane. On top of this, the redlining and dispraportionate school funding is pretty terrible. I was lucky enough to go to Parkland, a fantastic public school district. But twenty minutes away was Allentown School District. Same county, drastically different atmosphere.
This being said, it's interestingly diverse in political views. No matter where you go you'll be sure to meet all kinds of people. Additionally, some of the nature is GORGEOUS! There's not a lot to do besides that, so especially if you're a young family, be sure to take advantage of that.

Lehigh county is a beautiful area with both country and the city scenery. You can buy homemade honey from your local farmers street stand but also get a New York style bagel a little further up the street. You get to experience the best of both worlds in my opinion. Our schools vary from a variety of accredited universities along with more affordable community colleges as well. There are many outside activities to do during all four seasons which is a plus for out of town visitors and even local residents. Night life for the young adults is even rockin'!
As a resident of Lehigh County for the entirety of my life, I have nothing else to really compare it to. However, I am pleased with my current living situation in this area. Most people that I meet take pride in living in Lehigh County and for good reasons too.
