I love my experience with La Crosse County. I lived in Cleveland, Ohio for 7 years and St. Paul, Minnesota for six years. By jow, I have lived in La Crosse, Wisconsin for sixteen years. I think the city of La Crosse is the perfect marriage of rural and urban living. There are enough amenities and cultural opportunities to offer a degree of the big-city-living kind of feel. Moreover, the area is rich in accessible natural beauty. Even from the heart of downtown La Crosse, a person can walk a few minutes to soak in beautiful views of the Mississippi river, or take a short 15-20 minute bike ride to beautiful hiking trails which capture vistas of the entire valley which the community resides in. For a person interested in healthy, holistic living with a generous dose of the outdoors, La Crosse County provides offers these opportunities in overflowing abundance. My partner and I have enjoyed many a weekend afternoon taking beautiful drives through the country highways to soak up the area!

Great place to live and work! I have lived here for almost 22 years now, and I can't get enough, between the beautiful scenery and views to the Mississippi River. There are many things to do for fun including bike trails, hiking trails, visiting the Mississippi River, and more.
It would be better if it was more diverse, however people are genuinely kind and schools are great. Very affordable and safe as well. There are three colleges in La Crosse. Two Universities and one technical college. Beautiful bluffs and the Mississippi river!
