Unfortunately Jackson County is pretty rough around the edges. Poverty is fairly high and the population is not very educated.
We moved in from the outside and are College graduates and are amazed by the lack of desire to move forward economically and educationally.
The positive it’s a cheap place to live.

A large majority of the shops in town are mom-and-pop shops with a close-knit community. Overall, I believe they do a great job.
I work at a hospital and it is "ok" but, many of the people who work alongside me are narrow minded and have few nice things to say about "exotic" individuals.
