Hood River is definitely a town in which you would settle down in. It has a little bit of everything but most recreational activities are too expensive for the average household. Tourism is making housing prices rise and making its own residents flee to cheaper areas.
Hood river county is a wonderful, active and peacful community. It's a very small town. If you are active person and love sports, then this town is for you. It just 45 min away from Mt Hood and two hours away from ocean. There are many areas to go hiking and camping . Columbia Gorge river is famous for wind surfing and many people come around the world to wind surf here. The cost of living here is pretty spendy, but it's a very safe town. There is small amount traffic but not as much as the big cities.
