My experience in Henrico, Virginia has been amazing! I moved here when I was young and the atmosphere around me has been great since then. It is very family friendly with many parks in the area. It also has good public schools for children to attend to along with a safe community. Lastly, since it is close to the city of Richmond, there are a lot of jobs in the area, which are also easy to commute to. Overall, Henrico County has been a safe and welcome environment for the whole family.

I've lived in Henrico for my entire remembered childhood and the experience has been splendid. The education system, including multiple magnet school programs to further challenge yourself, is impeccable. It is so easy to build communities because of the zoning that places neighborhoods close together. I do wish that there were sidewalks to increase walk-ability. I also would like to see less construction and development because I enjoy trees. Henrico does have a great local parks system that is well maintained.
Henrico County in Virginia offers diversity through it's public school system, awesome parks for healthy outdoor options and easy commutes through its great roadway system. As a student-athlete, I was fortunate to be able to compete against many of the public high schools in my county. I say fortunate because I believe these schools represent a wide range of ability and talent who I wouldn't normally compete against if I only played in club sports. Also, I love the parks in Henrico - there are many that have water pads for kids to run through when it's hot and working drinking fountains. As a babysitter, these "perks" are very helpful! Finally, as a relatively new driver, I believe you can get anywhere within Henrico in 30 minutes and that includes traffic. As opposed to northern VA or DC, commuting time within the county is insignificant. I love living in Henrico!
