It is a great place to live! Within walking distance of many different activities. The one thing I do not like is the snow emergency system. I was under the impression that cars would be towed if they were parked on the wrong streets for certain days. However, I have only seen them plow around those cars leaving a mess where the cars were parked. Also, when they plow the main streets that first day of the emergency they tend to block off my side street with a wall of snow. Very inconvenient since those are the only streets we are supposed to park on that first day.
I was born and raised there. It is totally breathtaking. The lakes, the seasons and all the parks! The people are friendly, nice. It's not called Minneapolis nice for nothing. I never should've left. It's the home of Prince(may he rest in peacefulness). The sites...Mall of America, Target Center, 7th Avenue and The Orpheum! There is so much to see and do in Minneapolis!
What I like about Hennepin County is that there is always a great energy from its residents. People interact with one another, I always see people smiling and when you approach someone on the street they do not ignore you or look the other way, they acknowledge your existence which I wish people did everywhere you went. despite the weather people find ways around the gloominess the winter may cause and are constantly putting together community events to keep its locals active. Hennepin County is a great place to live if you like engaging with your community and always having something exciting going on!
