Harris County is one of the most diverse counties in the nation! Food culture holds the specialty in the county ranging from African culture food to the best Tex-Mex and Hispanic food there is. Not only is Harris County the most diverse, it also has the most friendly community as neighbors check up on each other greeting and teens getting involved with community service at the Houston Food Bank. Harris County has it all so be sure to say “Howdy” when stopping by!
Harris County has safe and comfortable family neighborhoods and large green spaces for kids, teens, or pets. There are multiple different schools in the area that kids can go to and many locations in the area to take dance classes, karate, swimming lessons, and many other fun opportunities. There is also an assortment of restaurants available to eat at, whether you like Chinese, Spanish, or fried chicken there is definitely a place for you to eat a good meal. My only criticism is that the area is very spread out which makes commuting long, but there is ample public transportation if needed through the metro system.
Harris County is a wonderful place and I'm glad that I live where I do, but there are some questionable issues and some questionable drivers as well around the area, but that's for another story. For example, in the street near where we live there has been this pothole for years, hell maybe since we first arrived here. Not only have they avoided simply redoing the side of the street. They continue to fill the hole back up and letting it sink back down later in the week, then the process repeats. They've sunk more money into that hole than I have eating Whataburger and I go there weekly. Overall though, Harris county has its perks if you know where to look.
