Habersham is a small county in the North Georgia mountains. Offers a rural area to live in, but does have the basic commodities. They do have Walmart, home town restaurants, Cato, Dollar Tree, and even a starbucks in the ingles!

Habersham County is a rural county in northeastern Georgia. Much of the area consists of farmers, below-average income, poverty, and the Southern culture. As one of "those Yankees," I experienced a huge culture shock when confronted with the less diverse and more politically conservative and needy area that is Habersham. That's not to say everything about Habersham County is all bad because I have a different world view. I find Southern hospitality and rustic aesthetics charming in their own way, and nearby church organizations, of which there are many, are proactive in social issues such as drug addiction, food insecurity, and domestic abuse. One final note I would leave is to be open-minded, and to tour the area yourself if you are interested in moving here. Don't take my word for this area, but experience it yourself.
Habersham is a relatively small, peaceful county. It's a cliche southern county with churches on every corner, Confederate flags on the backs of trucks, and advertisements for Republican politicians in front yards. Nice people. Crime here is minimal.
