Genesee County is determined to out one another despite the Flint water crisis. The county is trying their best to ensure better for the community. There have been several schools that have closed and some are being rebuild for newer businesses. Genesee County is willing to bring forth the effort to enhance better for the current residents. Despite the water crisis having it's affect, residents are fighting hard to maintain a healthier lifestyle. Safety can be a problem in certain areas. There were times in the past that crime has happened. It's still an issue now but it isn't as bad as Chicago were crime happens often there.

I personally have loved living in Genesee County. I went to Genesee High School and had a graduating class of 50 students. I really enjoyed that because you knew everybody around the school. It was also easy to build a relationship with the staff, because most of the faculty seems to really care about the wellbeing of the students. Genesee County has a fair amount of job opportunities and what we lack, is able to be found in other bordering counties. I have a 40 minute commute to work in Saginaw County, which I do not find to be too bad of a drive.
I love the area I live in, so many people talk about how their goal is to move away from their hometown but I would be happy to settle down here. I am close to my family, there are lots of options for fun, small town restaurants, places to take my dog etc.
