I especially like Winchester because of its proximity to the countryside. During the warmer months, I love to go out with my family to the numerous fruit farms and farmers markets. There is a lot to do in Winchester if you look hard enough. Having lived in urban Maryland, I noticed that Winchester has the charms of both the city and the countryside. I did not enjoy the city as much I though I would because I found myself yearning for those sweet summer days in the outdoors. I also love the privacy and the relative quietness of Winchester. Everyone is respectful and amiable! They all have that southern charm!

Frederick County has been a nice place to raise a family. The county is very wide. It has a small town feel. There are transplants here but there are a lot of people that were raised here or in Clarke County. So there is a lot of people who seem to know everyone. We live in the northeast part of the county which has great schools. Greenwood Mill Elementary school is the best in the area. The teachers are fantastic and very dedicated. Great place to live! It is a 45 minute drive to Leesburg.
This area offers many of the great ammenties of larger cities while still providing a warm, welcoming atmosphere. There are lots of things to do for recreation including: parks, biking trails, sports fields, etc. I absolutley love living here! I definately see some major expansions in the future for this area as people continue to move out farther from D.C.
