Cuyahoga County Reviews
Rating 4.6 out of 5 15 reviews
I grew up in Garfield Heights for my entire life. I was born in 2001 and now I'm 22 years old. The city desperately needs investment and funding. The 2008 recession hit the city hard and several businesses were shuttered. The City based its future on building a large shopping complex on an old abandoned landfill. Trapped Methane under the site not only provided a horrible smell but Ohio EPA threatened to close the entire shopping complex for potentially producing explosive gas. The new sense of investment from the city Council comes from the possibility of building a new jail in the town. But enough about the gloom of the city, let's talk about one of the best aspects of the town, our school system. Even though our public school systems weren't ranked the best the teachers showed real passion for teaching us. Garfield Heights partnered with Tri-c which helped dozens of students get an early start with college and begin attending classes as early as the 7th grade.
Cuyahoga County has been so far served our family well. You can find everything here, from good schools, stores, recreation area and specially the Metroparks. The only thing is there are some areas that gets flooded when a heavy rain down pour comes. And also road works take a while to complete and maybe better if they can be done during summer hours so school is not affected. Other than these, we are satisfied.
Cuyahoga County is really easy to get around. It's almost impossible to get lost! If you're considering moving to Cuyahoga County from out of the state, or in the state but in another county, I would 100% recommend. The food is awesome, the people are nice (In certain neighborhoods), and there are a ton of places!
