Custer County Reviews

After my husband retired from the Army, eight years ago we settled in the Black Hills of South Dakota in Custer County. It has been a wonderful experience and the longest we have lived in one home since leaving the Army. We love the place and the people. Being surrounded by the Black Hills we have many opportunities for outdoor adventures. We can go out our back door and go horse back riding, hiking, four welling, hunting, and rock climbing. When our own back yard is not enough we can travel a few miles down the road to Michelson Trail or to Custer State Park for bike riding and fishing. I personally have learned to love doing half-marathons and The Crazy Horse Monument sponsors a Marathon every year. I also love history which surrounds me as the Black Hills are also known as Paha Sapa the heart of all the earth. The Oglala Lakota Tribe views Paha Sapa as a spiritual place of healing and life. Every one and any one given the opportunity should visit this amazing place.
