Canyon county is a beautiful place it live. Cities are fast growing, yet slow paced. Although not as diverse as other cities, Canyon County offers a range of unique cultures and experiences. One can undergo a wide array of activities varying from hiking, boating at the lake, fishing, trail walks, to experiencing some of the best food, and shopping. The only change I would like to see is in the school systems. It’s crucial to teach kids to be creative outside-of-the-box thinkers, and over the years I have sadly witnessed many of our creative programs cut due financial problems. Students are missing out on the education they deserve because of inadequate teacher training, budget cuts, and unfortunately votes cut short that are needed to promote schools. Due to this, students are finding it harder to earn money for expensive university costs. These are problems that I believe are extremely important in my community and need to be addressed with care and passion.
Canyon county is so family friendly. We love it here! The community is incredibly supportive of one another. We are big supporters or organized sports of all ages and there are so many to choose from here in the valley.
Years ago this was a wonderful town. The crime rate has jumped (especially car theft and drug use). The job market is lacking, with low paying jobs. Lastly the housing is significantly more expensive than what is affordable compared to wages. The only reason to live here is outdoor life or commuting to Boise for work or school.
