Broward County has a lot to offer in terms of great restaurants and entertainment. It is very diverse, with a large population of people from other areas of the country and the world. There are many options for shopping and healthy living, which is great! However, there is a huge problem with homelessness in the area. This raises alarms for safety, and can bring down the overall quality of living.

Safety, i don’t feel safe walking in my neighborhood past dusk. ( I just installed Ring to our front door a few months ago. So far I’ve had a few individuals attempt to break into my car and an 8 year old steal my amazon package on his electric scooter, whom I caught down the street.) Affordability, Average home cost in Broward country is approximately 300K. The nicer areas with the better schools are Parkland - Average price 700K, Weston - Average price 500K, Davie -Average price 380K, Southwest Ranches - 600K, Plantation Acres - 850K, Las Olas - 2.8 million,....I think you get the idea. Commute, I95 before 6:30 am and after 8pm, mostly problem free. Between those times, a normal 30min commute can EASILY turn into 1-1.5 hr trip with just 1 accident. In short, Florida is a great vacation spot, great place for seniors/retirees. Business owners as well b/c of the low taxes and that fact you can find employees that will happily work for close to nothing.
Broward County is a quiet place with a vast amount of commercial areas to browse around. The area is very quiet and has a great of amount of diversity, lots of greenery and clean streets. The schools that are around is close by and can be a short drive or even a good walking distance. Cost of living in the area is not cheap but is manageable. Job opportunities are starting to grow within the area in more diverse career choices and will slowly increase. A genuinely peaceful area with a great community and plenty of places to shop or browse from.
