It is an okay place to live but there is better choices. In this area there are not many job opportunities. These is also no nightlife to speak of, so it is a very boring place. It also has a large and prevalent drug problem. Also, it has a horrible infrastructure, with the roads falling apart. It has two school districts in it but the city school is the best option, while the county school is pretty sub-par. I would know I went through both of these schools. One good thing about it is the fact that it has a very rich history and nature areas.

I have fond memories living there but I have not lived there in 40 years but may plan on retiring there, I'm going back to see.
Breathitt is a very small town. It's very friendly, and the locals are easy to get along with. It does have a low poverty rate, and many move away to find better jobs.
