Byron Reviews
Rating 4.18 out of 5 11 reviews
I live in Byron and have never had any issues with where I live. I would like to see more options for food/restaurants in the area other than bars. There are many things to do while the weather is nice, but once it gets cold, there are not as many things to do for the whole family. It is a very family oriented town that everyone, young or old, can do something. The crime is very low, if any at all. The schools are amazing and one of the best in the states. I am very pleased so far with my kids's experiences within the school district.
The community environment in Byron, IL is very welcoming and close-knit. Our community is very agriculture based, which allows for farmers markets, district FFA, and other activities to thrive. However, I am very disturbed by the amount of confederate flags proudly flown behind trucks. This community is overwhelmingly republican and conservative, and I believe it creates grounds for racism and close-mindedness to run rampant.
The overall experience of living in a small farm town 2 hours West of Chicago and 2 hours East of the Mississippi is that it gives you a prime location with a quiet/calm atmosphere. This is the town parents come to raise a family, there are multiple parks and bike paths for the parents to take their children to after a long day at work. There is a small street with local restaurants and pubs for local adults to go enjoy a refreshment at. The people are generally very genuine and kind, especially since mostly everyone has know you since you were little. There seems to develop a different type of relationship and respect she you grew up around these people. That is another Aspect I truly appreciate.
