The city of Buford is located about 25 miles outside the perimeter of Atlanta, Georgia. Great school system, affordable housing and home to one of the largest shopping malls in the country, The Mall of Georgia coming in a close second to the Mall of America located right outside of Minneapolis, Minnesota. Although strides have been made in the area of public transit, this plan has a long way to go. An expansion from Atlanta’s Marta Train would open up opportunities for more disadvantaged individuals to purchase affordable housing. There’s a shuttle system currently in place - with a round trip shuttle opportunity available Atlanta to Buford 6-8 times daily with departures and arrivals available from many locations. An actual train system could actually free Atlanta’s obvious traffic woes. The expansion of a train system could save individual commuters valuable family time, and promote healthy stress-free living.
I love Buford. Everything you need is right in this little city. The choice of restaurants is insane. You can find anything you want in this city. I love that this is the most diverse county in Georgia. That's not hyperbole, that's actually a fact. Of course if you're into malls, the biggest mall in Georgia is right here in Buford. You have access to all the interstates right from Buford. The people are nice. I moved here 6 years ago. I've lived many places, including overseas, due to being in the military. Buford is where I retired to. I'm so happy I chose this place. My daughter graduated from a great high school in the area & is currently going to college for free, due to the HOPE scholarship for GA graduates. Don't miss out on Buford! Excellent place to buy a home!
A safe and friendly place to live! I have lived here my entire life and it is a town of life long friends. Schools are wonderful and there is a strong sense of community. Never-ending activities! Beautiful nature and very close to Lake Lanier. So many opportunities for sports and growing athletic skills! Many different religious centers and places of faith. A perfect place for families.
