Buckeye is all farm fields with islands of planned developments. Verrado is not "Buckeye" in that it is the nicer master development north of the freeway, it's not similar to the rest of Buckeye at all but if you can afford to live there, do it! Verrado residents stay out of the rest of Buckeye with the exception of the Watson retail area. Most Buckeye residents don't go downtown, has deep need of some gentrification. Big box stores off Watson are the only practical retail to drive to, because everything else is almost a half hour away. Watson does have a variety of places to shop and eat though. Culturally the town is shallow, nothing exciting going on. No music venues, arts, or movie theaters within a 20 min drive. If you are looking for CHEAP housing, the stucco suburbia developments of Buckeye are your spot. Serious square footage for your dollar and raise kids in a new nice house. You will certainly always be driving to Goodyear or Avondale to do things though . . .

I live in Verrado. It is a beautiful, diverse and friendly community nestled on the outskirts of Buckeye. There is so much green with a mountain back drop. All the homes have front porches encouraging a neighborly demeanor! There are community pools, parks and hiking. There is golf and a community gym. There is a Farmers Market on Sundays and even a Founders Day party once a year! It's far enough to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city yet close enough to get there for events that are worth it! The Cardinals Stadium, Westgate and Goodyear Ball Park are just a hop, skip and jump away!
There isn't much to not like about Buckeye if you understand that it is a SUB-urban/rural community. It's beautiful, quiet, and safe. There are neat little places to explore and the city seems ready to explode into new development (increased land value people!). The few drawbacks that I really take issue with this beautiful, quiet city is that the tax rate is ridiculous and the water prices are nuts. It's not enough to drive me away though! There is also the fact that due to it being a small town, at present there are not enough job opportunities in town for younger people (like my children).
