I grew up in Brown Deer, Wisconsin for 18 years of my life up until I moved to Oshkosh to attend the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh. Brown Deer is a quiet, small town with only a population of 12,000 people. There are a couple of stores nearby to shop from, grocery stores to pick from, and a park that is very popular with the locals (Brown Deer Park). It's a suburb that is a part of Milwaukee County, so everybody calls Brown Deer a part of Milwaukee. It's similar to Fondulac, however Brown Deer can be branched off to other parts of Milwaukee as it is a part of Milwaukee.
Overall very nice area! Safe, decent schools, cheap for what it is and very close to mequon/theinsville area for shopping!
Very simple, friendly suburb. Affordable and nice for families with many kids going to the local school district.
