Working in Brooksville
Brooksville is a great place to raise a family. You are in between two major cities, Tampa and Orlando(There is always something to do in those two cities). You have so much here, Shopping, Skating, Bowling,Museums,Weeki Wachee Springs Park, Beaches, Croom rd (Lakes, Camping, Mudding, Horse Back Riding, Atv rentals). A Beautiful downtown area, with lots of history. There are always local festivals happening. This area is growing so fast! I wish I would have moved here sooner, Couldn't be happier!
Brooksville is a smaller town but it has some perks. It is more of a country-type town, though more and more suburbs are popping up. Land is beautiful out here. Downtown Brooksville offers lots of older-style buildings (historic district) with coffee shops and various delis and small shops. Good places to eat include the famous Coney Island where Elvis Presley once ate, Florida Cracker Kitchen, and Enchiladas. Many local bars including the Hilltop (saloon style), The Tap Room (more geared towards country folk) and the Marker 48 ( a brewery with its own little outdoor garden area and food trucks). Brooksville has a few parks, all of which are decent and offer sports centers and events for kids. More than anything, you'll find some peace and quiet in this country-like setting filled with rolling fields, beautiful trees, and lots of places to stop for sweet tea.
Been living here in the springhill/brooksville area for 32 yrs..the 1980's were great..now all the snow birds have moved here. Brought there crime. There are no jobs unless your a sheriff deputy.. Nurse. Or get a job with the county...and even then salaries are stuck in the 1970's...If yout not retired with a nice pension. Do not move here..or you will work 2 jobs to survive...and then you will work your ass off.
