Brooksville is a great place to raise a family. You are in between two major cities, Tampa and Orlando(There is always something to do in those two cities). You have so much here, Shopping, Skating, Bowling,Museums,Weeki Wachee Springs Park, Beaches, Croom rd (Lakes, Camping, Mudding, Horse Back Riding, Atv rentals). A Beautiful downtown area, with lots of history. There are always local festivals happening. This area is growing so fast! I wish I would have moved here sooner, Couldn't be happier!
Review Brooksville
Brooksville is a smaller town but it has some perks. It is more of a country-type town, though more and more suburbs are popping up. Land is beautiful out here. Downtown Brooksville offers lots of older-style buildings (historic district) with coffee shops and various delis and small shops. Good places to eat include the famous Coney Island where Elvis Presley once ate, Florida Cracker Kitchen, and Enchiladas. Many local bars including the Hilltop (saloon style), The Tap Room (more geared towards country folk) and the Marker 48 ( a brewery with its own little outdoor garden area and food trucks). Brooksville has a few parks, all of which are decent and offer sports centers and events for kids. More than anything, you'll find some peace and quiet in this country-like setting filled with rolling fields, beautiful trees, and lots of places to stop for sweet tea.
Brooksville remains that small town feel, but with ambition to become more. The big box stores are few and mostly towards US 19, yet your niche stores and private businesses make up the majority of the town. Venturing into downtown Brooksville you find the courthouse, library, small restaurants and large family parks. While the country is vast most everything you need is centrally located in this area.
