I absolutely love my hometown--Brookhaven, MS. It is called a "Homeseekers paradise" for a reason; it fulfills all your hopes and dreams expected of a small town. We have many locally owned businesses, eateries, bakeries, and boutiques. Brookhaven is an awesome place to raise your family. We have many events going on that the Chamber and other members of the community sponsor; such as but not limited to: St Paddys Parade, Easter Egg Hunts, Christmas Parade, Christmas Open House, Spring Fling, Spring Open House, Mardi Gras Parade, BarkFest, Ole Brook Festival, Exchange Club Fair, Relay for Life, Hog Wild Festival and the list could go on and on. Everyone owes themself a visit to the wonderful town of Brookhaven!
I'm here temporarily, staying with family. Brookhaven is a quiet little town with a throw back to the 30's and 40's. Downtown renovations of old buildings have resulted in some charming executive style apartments and rentals with a feel of the old south. Brookhaven is a friendly place but if you are looking for a technologically advanced area with all of the trappings of a larger, modern city, Brookhaven is not your niche. This is the place for a Gone With The Wind weekend!
Brookhaven is called "A Homeseekers Paradise", and I believe that's an accurate statement. Brookhaven is a small town with good old fashioned Southern charm, but still keeps up with the times. The restaurants, like Broma's, Mitchell's, Bob's, and many others all add their own specific flavor to the town. If you're a music fan, Brookhaven has talent to spare. From the young to the old, you don't have to look far to find musical talent in this little town. Whether it's at the Ole Brook Festival every fall, or at one of the musicals in the Brookhaven Little Theater, entertain abounds. The people are friendly to say the least. Anyone you meet is happy to have you in town, and hopes to give you a reason to stay. So I think Brookhaven's title is just right: it truly is "A Homeseeker's Paradise".
